The provincial government announced it has already spent close to P2 million in financial assistance to Palawan citizens stranded in various parts of the country.

According to a social media post of the Provincial Information Office, the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWD), under its Aid to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program, has assisted a total of 881 individual LSIs (locally stranded individuals) since May 5 up to present.

Abigail Ablaña, PSWD officer, said the recipients underwent validation by their office before they were assisted under their Sagip Palaweño Assistance Program.

Ablaña added they are still continuing with the program to assist those who are still unable to return home to their families.
