I am blessed enough to be able to attend the four-day 65th Annual National Mine Safety and Environment Conference (ANMSEC) in Baguio City in November 2018.

Themed “65 Years of Responsible Mining Together in Promoting and Advocating Responsible Mining,” this annual event also highlights the Mining Exhibit, 4th NAMINA Congress, 6th Community Relations Officers Conference, Minerals Industry Symposium, Minerals Industry Parade and Mine Safety Field Competition.

But my favorite was the Testimonial Dinner and Awards Night which aim to recognize the environmentally and socially responsible exploration, mining, and mineral processing operations in the country pursuant to Executive Order 399 Series of 1997 (Establishing the Presidential Mineral Industry Environmental Award).

In as much as I wanted to be “humble” but I couldn’t help myself but express that I am so proud of “my CBNC” for being able to hit the highest presidential mineral award for 5 consecutive years!

This very memorable moment for the whole CBNC family is another milestone in the history of CBNC. It may be hard to believe but it’s proven. We finally made it again for the 5th time (2014-2018) as a recipient of the most prestigious award in the mining industry, the Presidential Mineral Industry Environmental Award (PMIEA).

As a member of the CBNC Community Relations Team, I’m proud that our efforts in social/community development have been consistently recognized in the same manner as our safety and health and various environmental initiatives put all together.

I would say that this most laudable achievement is basically a product of teamwork, hard work, and perseverance. It is the fruit of the labor of all dedicated members of the CBNC family and the Management staff. As the old wise saying goes, “In Unity There is Strength”.

So, may I say once again CONGRATULATIONS to everyone. MABUHAY ang CORAL BAY NICKEL CORPORATION (CBNC)!
