City Councilor Jimmy Carbonnel wants tricycle drivers in the city to follow a standard dress code and observe proper hygiene at least while they are at work.
In his proposed ordinance, Carbonell sought to penalize tricycle drivers who will be caught wearing slippers, sleeveless sando shirt, short pants, apparel with an obscene or offensive picture printed on it, and bonnets covering their face while at work.
The prescribed attire for tricycle drivers under the ordinance are long pants, shirt with collar, and a pair of shoes.
The penalty for violating the prospective ordinance involve fines ranging from P500 to P2,000, including cancellation of franchise.
The proposed measure has been referred to the committee on transportation for study and deliberation.
