Local government units (LGUs) in Palawan should conduct an inventory of all their cultural properties and formulate preservation policies to protect them from ruin.

In a resolution approved by the provincial board on Tuesday, board member Roseller Pineda said the goal is in line with the present tourism development targets of the province.

He said the LGUs should ensure the protection and preservation of the different cultural properties that should not be relocated, rebuilt or change.

Section 13, Article 14 of the Philippine Constitution said “the state should foster the preservation, enrichment and dynamic evolution of Filipino National Culture.”
