The Puerto Princesa City Water District (PPCWD) is set to hold a water crisis forum in Barangay Bahile to address the concerns of rural barangays.
Jenn Rausa, acting water district information officer, said the activity is part of their information dissemination campaign to reach out to residents and inform them about the state of water distribution in the city.
“Magkakaroon kami ng water crisis forum or information dissemination sa barangay Bahile, doon ay nag-implement na ng water rationing although kaunti lang ang mga consumers natin doon. Ilang village ang meron sa Bahile kaya hindi rin siya major problem,” she said.
Rausa said among the problems they are facing in upland villages is when residents in low-lying areas open their lines even if it is not their schedule for water rationing.
“For example dito sa taas ng village na ito, ito na ‘yong time na kailangan nila ng tubig, ‘yong ginagawa ng mga taga-baba, binubuksan nila ‘yong kanilang mga valves kaya nawawalan tuloy ‘yong sa taas na dapat time na nila magkaroon ng tubig,” Rausa pointed out.
The forum will also inform residents to respect the water rationing schedule allotted for other residents.
Residents will also be encouraged to store water so they will have supplies for their use.
“Iyon ‘yong isa sa mga reason kung bakit kami magco-conduct ng forum, para i-inform sila na respect din ‘yong time na in-allot, although mahirap din talaga na walang tubig pero syempre we are trying our best naman na masuplayan sila pareho,” she said.
Rausa said other rural villages have their own wells and surface water to use.
