The city water district said it will only bill its consumers for their actual consumption of water and will not impose penalty charges during the extended quarantine.
Puerto Princesa City Water District (PPCWD) information officer Jenn Rausa said that what they will collect will only cover the period that is part of the quarantine per board Resolution No. 20-20-032.
“Within the duration ng ECQ na yon, so I think yong from March to April yan — dalawang buwan. Parang yong una kasi namin release nong March bago itong ECQ ay isinama na namin ang buong consumption ng March hanggang ito nga, April,” she said.
Rausa added that since the start of the quarantine period on March 16, their “bayad centers” have also closed — one of the reasons they are not going to impose penalties.
Meanwhile, she said that the PPCWD has also released a new schedule for four barangays where most of complaints are coming from.
The barangays of Mandaragat, Matahimik, Bagong Pag-asa, and San Isidro were originally included in Area 1 with 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. schedule. Now they have been transferred to the Area 2 schedule (effective April 12) from 8:00 p.m. to 12:00 noon.
