PPCRV promotes “One Good Vote” Campaign for the May 2016 elections

PPRCV calls on voters to be vigilant and critical in choosing the kind of leaders they’re going to put in the public office.

The parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting of the Catholic Church is aggressively promoting the “One Good Vote” Campaign that sets the basis for voters in choosing the kind of candidates to elect for public office.

According to Father Jasper Lahan,of PPCRV the campaign the basic guidelines in choosing a leader called the 3 K’s which in Filipino means Karakter (character), Kakayahan (capability), and Katapatan (honesty).

Fr. Lahan said that the campaign entices the voters to think carefully and correctly whom they are going to vote on the basis of the many parameters set of choosing the leaders.

“Actually ito po ay sample lamang ng mga questions na binibigay namin ngunit kung uusian natin ng mabuti ito ‘yung magbibigay sa bawat botante na makapag isip-isip. Bakit mo ipagkakatiwala ang sarili mo sa isang walang karakter, walang kakayahan at walang katapatan sa ating bayan?” he said.

PPCRV is an accredited election watchdog of the Commission on Elections thus it is calling the people to be vigilant in ensuring that the election will be clean, peaceful and credible.

Part of PPCRV’s mandate is to deploy poll watchers in precincts during election. It is looking for volunteers to be part of their pool of poll watchers. Those who are interested may enlist their names in their respective parishes.
