The Philippine Navy will deploy its newly- acquired boats to Palawan.
Commodore Jeorge Amba, commander of the Naval Forces North West said that two landing heavy crafts from Australia will be delivered on August 8.
The new ships will be useful for rescue operations as it is designed for heavy supplies and relief work as well as cargo and troop transport, Amba said.
In 2016, he said an additional two strategic sealift vessels will also be arriving.
It is part of President Aquino’s commitment to protect the territorial waters of the Philippines, he said.
