The Sangguniang Panlalawigan has asked the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) to conduct Mobile or Satellite Registration for the Step 2 of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) in different municipalities of the province.

Board Member Ryan D. Maminta, who initiated a resolution on the matter, said the satellite registration for PhilSys will ensure a faster registration, particularly in the far-flung barangays as the PSA has limited registration centers in Puerto Princesa City.

Currently, PSA-Palawan is conducting step 2 registration in the municipality of Rizal.

PhilSys step 2 registration includes validation of demographic information submitted in the step 1 process, scanning of biometrics data, and front-facing photograph to be placed in the PhilSys identification card.

Once completed, the ID card will be sent to the individual through the Philippine Postal Authority.
