The provincial board has summoned the Milagrosa Shipping Lines representative to answer a complaint about its 72-year old ferry captain who was caught sleeping while on duty.

Board Member Juan Antonio Alvarez, in a privilege speech Tuesday, said he received a letter of complaint from the passenger of the Milagrosa travelling from Puerto Princesa to Cuyo earlier this month.

Based on the letter, ferry captain was caught sleeping during the voyage which is harmful for the passengers aboard.

Alvarez has requested the body to send a letter to the management of the Milagrosa to explain the incident.

He also mentioned that the captain was reported 72 years old but still performing his duty.

With that, we are asking the company of Milagrosa to answer or to investigate the incident,” Alvarez said.
