Palawan to mark 118th Civil Service Anniversary


The provincial government of Palawan will celebrate the 118th Civil Service Anniversary beginning Friday with the theme “Lingkod Bayani: Maka-Diyos, Makatao, Makabayan.”

A press release from the Provincial Information Office on Wednesday said the Provincial Capitol will celebrate the founding anniversary of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) until September 28.

The PIO said various activities have been prepared to highlight the two-week celebration, including indoor and outdoor sports.

The activities will be participated in by regular and contractual employees which was divided into five teams — gray, white, pink, black, and orange.

The event will open with a Holy Mass at 1 p.m. at the Telesforo S. Paredes Pavilion to be followed by a short opening program and the much-awaited Hataw Dance Exercise Competition.

The indoor games that will be played among the five teams include table tennis, dart, chess, scrabble, and ball games like volleyball and basketball that will start on September 17 and end on September 27.

On September 21, the teams will compete against each other in the singing competition that will have two categories — Doble Kara Singing Competition and the Quartet Singing Competition.

There will also be a competition for folk dance and a forum on September 19 at the VJR Hall.

For the healthy lifestyle advocacy, there will be a daily fitness exercise from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. beginning September 20 to 27 at the pavilion area.
