Representative of the province of Palawan in Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) quiz bee won first runner up place over competitors in regional level on October 17.
Welson Paz, DTI Palawan specialist said the Palawan division representative Monitte Lantas of Narra National High School won as first runner up with P10,000 and medal award. Paz said that the recognition of Palaweño student proves the knowledge of youth when it comes to their rights as consumer.
“Kasama sa celebration natin ng Consumer Act ang quiz bee, tapos ini-aim natin na through this ay ma-integrate yong laws, consumer act sa curriculum na which is yong ibang schools ay isinasama na sa subject nila sa secondary,” he said.
Paz also added that the participating youths in activities such as quiz bee helps the agency to widen their avenue for information dissemination.
“Yong aim namin ay ma-disseminate yong information kaya through sa mga estudyante, sa ganyang programa sa quiz bee, tingin natin ay kasama natin sila na madi-dessiminate yon hindi lang sa kanilang mga kaklase, tingin natin ay pati sa mga magulang nila. Kung tingin niya ay kasama siya sa bumili at may sira yon, meron syang right na mag-complain, magpapalit, magpa-refund,” he said.
Aside from Lantas, the representative of Puerto Princesa division also won a place in the competition ranking as third runner up, Daniel Dalisay of Palawan National High School won P5,000 cash prize and a medal.
The regional quiz bee was held at Megamall, Mandaluyong City after the provincial-wide and city-wide quiz bee on October 01.
