Palawan scores ‘Gawad Kalasag’ regional awards

The provincial government of Palawan was accorded the “Gawad Kalasag Plaque of Commendation and Recognition” from the Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) and the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) for effective disaster management.

The awards were received by the province on November 8 during the Regional Gawad Kalasag Awarding Ceremony in Manila.

Individual awards were also given to Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (PDRRMO) chief Jeremias Alili, Yanika Eli Seratubias, Mark Gil Supapo, and Victor Yayen.

Raymundo Quicho and other members of the Incident Management Team (IMT) and Post Disaster Needs Analysis (PDNA) were also recognized for their outstanding support to affected residents of the province during typhoon Vinta.

The regional Gawad Kalasag is a prestigious award given by the OCD and the RDRRMC to deserving local government units and individuals in recognition of their contribution to disaster management and effective and efficient response to calamities.
