Police operatives arrested two most wanted persons in separate manhunt operations in Palawan.

Police Colonel Socrates Faltado, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office (PRO) in the MIMAROPA, said Sunday that Ulyses Sendo Valeriano, 53, of Sofronio Española, and Rodelio Padon Tabang, 45, of Cuyo were arrested in operations that were part of their intensified campaign against most wanted personalities.

Valeriano, reportedly a bodyguard of Sofronio Española mayor Marsito Acoy, was arrested on May 26 in Barangay Pulot Center on a warrant issued March 12, 2015, by Judge Ambrosio de Luna of the Palawan Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 51.

His arrest was “for the service of his sentence” for violation Presidential Decree 1866 which codifies laws on illegal, unlawful possession, manufacture, dealing in, acquisition or disposition of firearms, ammunition or explosives or instruments used in their manufacture” which imposes stiffer penalties.

Tabang, on the other hand, was arrested on May 25 in Barangay Caponayan, Cuyo, by joint personnel of the town’s police and the Dumaran Municipal Police Station (MPS) on a warrant issued by Judge Anna Leah Tiongson-Mendoza of RTC Branch 164 on December 19, 2018.

His recommended bail for violation of Republic Act 7610, “the act providing for stronger deterrence and special protection against child abuse, exploitation, and discrimination” is P80,000.
