Thousands of supporters of senatorial candidate JV Ejercito successfully came out Saturday to show their support for the senator’s reelection bid as a part of the simultaneous “JV Day.”
The event is part of a nationwide action of the Volunteers for Ejercito, highlighted by street marches, motorcades, rallies noise barrages, public discussions of his advocacies, accomplishments, and other forms of gesture of support.
JCI Philippines, a civic-minded young professionals organization in the country, which Ejercito once led as its national president, led the events.
Josephine Llorca, JCI Senator, Senate ASEAN Vice President for the Philippines, and 2010 Regional Vice President of the JCI Philippines, said the JCI Palawan chapters namely JCI Puerto Princesa Peacock, Inc., JCI Narra Grains, JCI Puerto Princesa Oil, Inc., JCI Roxas Casuy, and JCI Puerto Princesa Kiao, Inc. have expressed their utmost support to the reelectionist senator.
Llorca said Ejercito is the real ‘good one’ because in his 18 years in public service, he has a clean track record and never got involved in any anomaly or graft and corruption.
As a legislator, JV has 80 laws, notable of which are the Universal Health Care and the Creation of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development measures, 572 bills, and 108 resolutions.
“Wala pong requirement sa ‘JV Day’ basta naniniwala, sumusuporta, at nakikipaglaban para kay Senator JV Ejercito at malinis na paglilingkod,” Llorca said.
Meanwhile, the event was recently announced by Tony Garcia, executive director of JV Para sa Bayan Movement.
Garcia also invited all who want the “good one” Ejercito to be back in the Senate.
“We declare Saturday, May 4, as ‘JV day.’ I would like to invite everybody to come out and express support in any way they wish for Senator JV Ejercito,’” Garcia said in a statement.
