Palawan cited anew in US travel publication

Locker particularly mentioned El Nido, Linapacan Island and Underground River in Puerto Princesa City with bluest water.

The Province of Palawan is once again included in the “Top 15 Beach Destinations to Visit in January” by the  New York-based Travel+Leisure Magazine.

The magazine highlighted Palawan as one of the top destinations in the world with calm and clear water beaches fits for snorkeling and diving.

Among other destinations that made the top 15 list are Koh Lanta, Thailand, Tulum, Mexico, San Blas, Panama, and Maui in Hawaii.

Aside from being one of the best 15 top beach destinations, Palawan is also included in the 13 destinations with the “bluest water” in the world.

“Nakakatuwa. It’s another international recognition for the province of Palawan being a natural destination. Kasi ‘yon naman talaga ang ipinagmamalaki natin – being a natural destination. So if you are a tourist or a person who wants to commune with nature, Palawan is the place where you want to connect and reconnect,” said Maribel Buñi. head of Provincial Tourism Promotions

Buñi said that with the accolades received by Palawan, it becomes important to put more efforts in responsible protecting the environment which makes Palawan unique among other tourists destinations in the world.

In the blog of Melissa Locker entitled “13 Places Where You Can See the Bluest Water in the World” she described Palawan as jungle-filled islands surrounded by stunning teal waters teeming with fish and coral reefs and an incredible array of lagoons, coves, and secret beaches.”

Locker particularly mentioned El Nido, Linapacan Island and  Underground River in Puerto Princesa City with the bluest water.

“International recognition yan e. ‘Yong mga travelers kasi ngayon, they always refer to good publication about anything or a place. They always view the internet as a good source of information. So kapag ganyan, it’s a good promotion on our side,” Buñi said.

In 2016 and 2017, Palawan was recognized by Travel+Leisure Magazine as the “World’s Best Island”, a slogan which has been carried by the province until today.
