Board Member Leoncio Ola, chair of the Committee on Appropriation, announced this week the provincial board finally approved a proposed P32 million supplemental budget for 2017.

The additional budget request of the provincial government that will come out from its savings will be alloted for road widening, bridge and hospital constructions.

“From savings ito. Ni-reprogram lang kasi hindi na nagastos lahat kaya ang ginagawa supplemental budget. Usually, maliliit na lang naman ang pagagamitan sa bawat projects ‘yong iba P2M, ‘yong iba P1M,” said.

Ola said that they are also set to submit the annual budget for 2018 on October 15.  It will then go through budget hearings before the approval before the end of the year 2017.

“Otherwise, baka kapag tumawid na kami ng 2018 na hindi namin naaprubahan baka magkaroon kami ng re-enacted budget kaya kailangan before the end of the last session of December maaga pa d’yan,” he added.
