The city government has started the construction and renovation of the Ramon V. Mitra Sports Complex worth P104.2 million.

Mayor Lucilo Bayron, during the 3rd Balayong Nurturing Festival, said the construction and renovation project will include a new swimming pool, conversion of the existing pool into an infinity pool, repair of the main grandstand with the basement converted into a stock room and weight room, construction of an indoor badminton court, table tennis and covered lawn tennis courts, and improvement of existing volleyball courts with covered bleachers.

The city government will also construct a watch tower in the Balayong Park facility worth P86,547,031.20 from the 2018 Local Government Support Fund Assistance to Cities (LGSFA).

The renovation of the sports complex is expected to be completed by June 2020 while the watch tower is expected to be finished by December 2019.

The city government unveiled the projects through a ribbon-cutting ceremony during the Balayong Nurturing Festival on Saturday.
