One person died in a vehicular accident Monday along the national road in Barangay Malcampo, Roxas town.
The police report identified the fatality as Cyril Butcon Jondonero, 35, driver of a van carrying eight passengers.
The report stated that the van and a dump truck were traveling from opposite directions when they collided on a slippery curve.
Jondonero sustained serious body injuries and was rushed to the Roxas Medicare Hospital by responding personnel of the town’s Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Two of the van’s passengers sustained slight physical injuries.
The dump truck’s driver was held under police custody in Roxas municipal police station while the case was under investigation.
