The Commission on Elections (COMELEC)  in Palawan has not yet received any complaints against “nuisance candidates” for local posts.

Provincial COMELEC spokesperson Jomel Ordas said so far, no one has filed any petition to declare anyone as a nuisance candidate in the May 2019 local elections.

“Sa ngayon wala naman tayong nabalitaan na nag-file ng petition to declare anyone as nuisance candidate sa mga election officer natin. Maliban na lang kung may nagfile directly sa clerk of commission,” Ordas said.

Interested parties, he said, have five days after the last day of election to file the petition.

“In case mayroon at wala pang desisyon ay tuloy-tuloy pa rin ang proseso noon sa COMELEC,” he pointed out.

He added that all candidates in Palawan are on the tentative list of candidates that will appear on the official ballot.

The final list of candidates is yet to be released by the poll agency.
