The City Traffic and Management Office (CTMO) will do away with the tricycle color coding scheme from December 31 to January 1, 2019.

CTMO officer-in-charge Jonathan Magay said all tricycles are free to pick up passengers anywhere in the city to take them to their destinations.

Magay said this has been the practice of the city government every holiday season.

“Free silang mag-pick up ng pasahero basta Christmas at New Year lang (They’re free to pick up passengers only on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day),” he said.

On the other hand, he said the CTMO will place additional traffic enforcers in malls and different areas to avoid irregularities among drivers such as overpricing and refusal of passengers.

“Magdadagdag lang tayo ng mga enforcers dyan sa mga malls para mabantayan ng husto ang mga driver dyan na sobra kung maningil, tumatanggi o namimili ng isasakay (We will add traffic enforcers in the malls and other areas to ensure the protection of the riding public against drivers who charge too high, refuse to convey passengers, or select who they want to convey),” Magay said.
