A new firefly watching attraction was launched Thursday by a community group in Barangay Bacungan.

Michie Meneses, city tourism senior operations and promotions and marketing division chief, told Palawan News the new community-based sustainable tourism (CBST) project was initiated by the Bacungan Mangrove Eco-Tourism Services Cooperative (BMETSC) which had also organized the San Carlos river cruise project.

So may morning activity na, meron pa hanggang gabi,” Meneses said.

Meneses added that the project had been endorsed by both the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) and the Palawan Wildlife and Rescue Center (PWRC), to allay concerns about the presence of crocodiles in the area.
