The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) filed cases Tuesday against eight individuals whom they arrested in an illegal gambling raid at Funland Eco Amusement Park in Barangay San Manuel.

A spot report released by the office of NBI Palawan chief Atty. Renato Garbo III identified the suspects as Jovito Getubig, Jacinta Marie Manalang, Ebrahim Jaafal, Reynaldo Bucog, Jireh Limaco, Jovit Getubig, Denver Diaz, and Renato Postrano.

They were sued for violating Presidential Decree 1602 which prescribes stiffer penalties on illegal gambling.

The recommended bail for each of them by the court was P20,000.

The spot report said the raid at Funland was carried out around 10:00 p.m. on January 14 at Funland, which is located within the vicinity of Robinsons Place Palawan.

It said the amusement park was raided following tip-offs about an unauthorized operation of the “perya” color game and a series of surveillance the NBI conducted.

The investigation said the suspects were caught in the act of playing the color game.

Confiscated from them were 56 blue chips or game tokens.

Four other boxes of chips, one bundle of playing cards equivalent to P1,500 and a logbook were also seized from the amusement park management.
