The Jaime V. Ongpin Foundation, Inc. (JVOFI) has donated assorted school supplies and other equipment to the Kalayaan Elementary School (KES) in the West Philippine Sea.

The Naval Forces West (NAVFORWEST) under Commodore Rene David received the donations on June 20, which are intended to provide access to education to the underprivileged children of KES.

They were received through the office of Gen. Felimon Santos Jr, the chief of staff, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

NAVFORWEST in a statement sent Tuesday said they transported on June 22 to Pag-asa Island in Kalayaan town various school supplies, sports equipment, laptop, projector, and Smart TV for the Multipurpose Hall.

“CSAFP personally coordinated with the donating party to make the initiative possible and convey a nationalistic message to the people of Pagasa Island,” the statement said.

JVOFI is a non-stock, non-profit organization in Baguio City that works in partnership with local and foreign donors, businesses, government agencies, other NGOs, and people’s organizations in pursuing development programs within its target communities.
