Narra has qualified to be the only municipality in MIMAROPA that can give “performance-based bonuses” to its officials and employees for the Fiscal Year 2018.
Mayor Lucena Demaala said their town has qualified to give bonuses to officials and employees based on Section 3.0 of the Department of Interior and Local Government-Department of Budget and Management (DILG-DBM) joint Memorandum Circular No. 2018-01 or the Guidelines on the Grant of the Performance-Based Bonus for Officials and Employees of Local Government Units (LGU) for the Fiscal Year 2018.
She said they will be able to give the financial reward for good performance as soon as the municipal government has already completed the requirements it is required to submit.
“Noong makita ko ‘yong requirements sabi ko para namang lulusot tayo sa butas ng karayom. Pero we have a letter of intent, and luckily, sa buong MIMAROPA tayo lang ang munisipyong nakapasa. Tatlong beses na kaming sumali dyan noong 2016, 2017 at 2018,” Demaala said Friday.
Per computation of performance of each department, she said the highest 65 percent bonus will go to employees of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) and LGU officials and 50 percent to the others.
She said the employees will receive their bonuses based on their salaries.
“We will give this to the Sangguniang Bayan for the approval of an ordinance for funding,” she said.
Demaala said that based on the letter and memorandum sent by the DILG’s Bureau of Local Government Supervision, Narra was included in the list of qualified local government units (LGUs) to grant the 2018 performance-based bonus alongside Calapan City in Oriental Mindoro.
She said they also qualified after the Civil Service Commission (CSC) and the Commission on Audit (COA) validated their compliance as stated under Section 3.0 of the joint memorandum circular.
“Thank God sa aking masisipag na mga empleyado at department heads na talagang nakatulong para ma-comply ang demands ng eligibility for the performance-based bonus. Masaya ako na before ako mag-exit sa posisyon ko ay nabigyan ng performance-based bonus ang mga empleyado ko. Hopefully, maipagpatuloy nila ito. Imagine, Narra lang sa buong MIMAROPA ang munisipyong makakatanggap nito kasama na ang isang city — ang Calapan City,” she said.
