Estefano said that while the suspension orders were made by local chief executives, they will be adhering to it.
“Hindi po kami ang nagsu-suspend ng class, it is the LGU,. Ang sabi ni President Duterte, the LGU, sila yong gagawa ng initiative on how they will manage COVID-19 in their respective area. Ang principle kasi nyan is like what’s happening during disasters — it’s the LGU chief executives ang nagbibigay ng suspension. At this point in time, it covers the whole community preventive measures whatever the decision of the LGUs, we will adhere to them,” she said.
She also said that on their part, they will ask the schools in the areas where the suspensions were enforced on what learning competencies they haven’t finished and what interventions they will conduct.
“On our part, hihingian namin sila ng kung ano pang hindi naituturo na competencies para malaman natin kung anong alternative delivery mode, tatanungin namin sila kung ano ang kanilang plano, ang school head ang on top of everything, meaning may principal empowerment kasi every school at every placeay inique situation kung ano ang mag-fifit sa kanila ‘yon ang i-aadapt,” she said.
She also said that the schedule of the graudation, moving up ceremonies and other activities are still suspended until further notice.
“Wala, naka-suspend lahat, walang graduation not unless i-lilift na, assessments and othrr activities like graduation and moving up naka-suspend na until further notice depende pa rin sa sitwasyon ng COVID-19,” she said.
