In partnership with the local government units (LGUs), a total of 114,157 families in Palawan will receive cash subsidies under the government’s Social Amelioration Program (SAP), a press statement from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in the region said Thursday.
They are part of the 411,074 families in MIMAROPA that will receive the cash subsidies from the SAP, the statement said.
A total of P2 billion SAP funds will be distributed to them, and to 120,948 families in Oriental Mindoro; 64,396 in Occidental Mindoro; 57,190 in Marinduque; and 54,383 in Romblon.
“The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) MIMAROPA has already transferred the funds to the local government units who will spearhead the pay-out to the target beneficiaries,” said OIC regional director Purificacion Arriola.

As of this writing, 1,368 beneficiaries in Oriental Mindoro; 730 beneficiaries in Romblon; and 2,620 beneficiaries in Palawan received their SAP cash assistance.
The Department also partnered with other government agencies such as Armed Forces of the Philippines, Bureau of Fire and Philippine National Police to ensure the Department of Health’s quarantine guidelines are followed during the off-site pay-out, added Director Arriola.
On the other hand, the Department established regional hotlines for SAP concerns. MIMAROPA residents may contact the DSWD through email: sap.fomimaropa@dswd.gov.ph and/or call 09982263646, text: 09395024258/09162525799.
SAP is an emergency subsidy for low-income families in the form of outright cash from five thousand to eight thousand pesos.
