A 34-year old employee of the Rio Tuba Nickel Mining Corporation (RTNMC) was declared dead on arrival at an emergency care facility on Tuesday after he was hit by a truck in Bataraza town.
The victim was identified by a police spot report as Abdul Carim Sampay, a resident of Sofroñio Española
The suspect was identified as German Mica Escoltor, 32 years old, and a resident of Sitio Marangris, Bataraza.
Initial police investigation showed that the suspect was driving the company truck when he accidentally hit the victim along the Sun Drying Area Mine Site inside the RTN Compound, Barangay Rio Tuba, Bataraza.
The victim, who sustained multiple injuries, was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival at 2 a.m. on the same day.
