PUERTO PRINCESA CITY — Occidental Mindoro’s eighth confirmed COVID-19 case was discharged from San Sebastian District Hospital, bringing the total recoveries in the province to 7.

The provincial government of Occidental Mindoro, in an announcement Thursday, said that Patient No. 8, a 42-year-old female healthcare worker from Sablayan town, was discharged after her second and third confirmatory test result returned negative of the deadly infection.

“Nakarecover na sa COVID-19 si confirmed case No. 8 matapos matanggap ng Provincial Health Office (PHO) ngayong araw ang resulta ng kaniyang repeat swab mula sa Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM),” the statement said.

The Occidental Mindoro province now records only two active cases, seven recoveries, and one death from its ten COVID-19 positive patients.

Oriental Mindoro governor Humerlito Dolor, in a separate announcement Thursday, said that 41 patients have received negative test results from the RITM.

“Sa kasalukuyan, mayroon pa tayong hinihintay tayong resulta para sa dalawampu’t pitong (27) specimen na ipinadala sa RITM,” Dolir said.

In Palawan, seven patients were awaiting test results as the island province monitors 14 COVID-19 patients, 13 of whom were under the “suspect” category while one was tagged as a “probable” case.
