BATARAZA, Palawan — A member of the Militia ng Bayan under the Kilusang Gerilya of the New People’s Army (NPA) in the province surrendered Monday to government troops and mayor Abraham Ibba.
“Ka Nonoy” surrendered on June 11 first to the 24th Marine Company, Marine Battalion Landing Team-4 (24th MC, MBLT-4) before he was presented to Ibba at the municipal hall.
Joe Luis Asperin said.
Ibba, on the other hand, said the municipal government is “ready and willing to support” members of the New People’s Army (NPA) who will return to the folds of the law.
He said Ka Nonoy will be given livelihood assistance so he can renew his life and rejoin his family.
He said his leadership will continue its support to the government’s Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) under Executive Order 70 to end the local communist armed conflict.
