Detained Vice-mayor Luis Marcaida has been subjected to a disciplinary action by the City jail management after authorities confiscated illegal contraband from his cell during an “Oplan Greyhound” operation last January 6.

Puerto Princesa City jail spokesperson Marlito Anza on Wednesday said that jail management has recommended committing Marcaida into the close-confinement dorm, limiting his visiting hours into an hour just for the members of his immediate family and canceling his other recreational activities.

All of this is still a subject for approval from City Jail warden Lino Soriano, who is currently still on an out-of-town leave.

Jail authorities said they confiscated from Marcaida two cellular phones, a match, two chargers, cigarette buds, and plastic wares which are also considered as contrabands.

Anza said that Marcaida admitted that he violated the guidelines of the facility and that the detainee is willing to face the recommended disciplinary action.
