A low-pressure area (LPA) has developed into a tropical depression named “Liwayway”.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Liwayway is not expected to make a landfall but may intensify into a tropical storm within 24 hours.
 
Weather specialist Meno Mendoza said Monday that it was recently located at 450 kilometers (km) east of Daet, Camarines Norte or 325 km east northeast of Virac, Catanduanes.
 
“Patuloy itong kikilos north northwest hanggang sa makalabas ito ng ating Philippine area of responsibility sa ika-pito ng September,” he said.
 
Southwest monsoon or habagat will bring light to moderate rains in areas of Palawan, Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro.
 
Seaboards in Luzon including Palawan is under gale warning advisory on which wave height might reach 2.8 to 4.5 meters.
