A live wire hanging atop a palm tree set it alight, nearly causing a residential fire in BM Road, Barangay San Pedro on Tuesday.
FO3 Rud Mark Anticano, chief of the investigation and intelligence section of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in the city, said residents of Venturillo Road 1 were also able to put out the fire immediately before it could spread to the neighborhood.
He said their station received a phone call from a certain Jay-Ar Cinco who reported the incident that happened inside the residence of Olivia Barbosa.
Minutes after receiving the phone call, two fire trucks were dispatched to the area.
“Pagdating namin fire out na, na-verify namin na ‘yong nasusunog pala ay ‘yong isang puno na lumiyab dahil sa service drop wire na nakasabit sa puno,” he said.
