Some 600 students in state universities within Puerto Princesa City and Aborlan will receive P6,000 each semester from the office Rep. Gil Acosta Jr. (3rd District, Palawan), under his Kabarangay Educational Assistance Program (KEAP).
Despite the free tuition and miscellaneous fee covered by the Republic Act No. 10931 or the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act, Acosta said in a statement that each student will receive the amount to help them in their other school contributions, book allowance, and uniform allowance.
Around P7.5 million educational assistance budget of the 3rd district was allotted for the school year 2019-2020.
Students should maintain a 2.5 or 85 percent General Weighted Average (GWA).
Acosta added that number of the students to be accepted will depend on the annual budget for educational assistance.
