Increasing burglary cases in Sta. Lourdes recorded

The Puerto Princesa City Police Office (PPCPO) Station 2 has warned residents of Barangay Sta. Lourdes to be more safety-conscious following a series of break-ins and robberies in the area.

Inspector Mark Anthony Maceda, deputy commander of the PPCPO Station 2, said residents should keep their valuables safe at home at all times of the day, and encouraged investing in closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras to help resolve their cases, should they fall victims.

He stated robberies and burglaries are not only committed by unscrupulous individuals at night; they also happen at daytime when most residents are at work.

He disclosed that this month alone, the PPCPO Station 2 has already logged five robbery incident reports in Sta. Lourdes.

“Mga nasa more or less five.

He noted that the burglarized homes were located in relatively isolated neighborhoods.

He added the burglars took everything, even items that have no monetary value, from these victims’ houses.

Maceda pointed out that the residents must take charge of their own safety by keeping their doors and windows locked and by never leaving their houses unattended. He said if possible, home owners should set up security cameras.
