SAN VICENTE, Palawan — Law enforcement authorities confiscated some 1,000 board feet of illegally cut lumber in Barangay Alimanguan on Wednesday.

A certain Christopher Presnillo was also caught by a joint team from the 33rd Marine Company of Marine Battalion Landing Team-3, CENRO Roxas, and Bantay Palawan while he was hauling the assorted lumber.

Jesus dela Cruz Villados, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) enforcement unit officer, told Palawan News they have identified a couple as behind the illegal lumber.

“More or less 1,000 board feet assorted lumber of ipil and putian plus isang unit ng chainsaw [ang na-confiscate natin].

Cases [will be filed] against the perpetrators,” he said.

The lumber and chainsaw have been turned over to CENRO Roxas.
