The Hotel Elizabeth Resorts and Villas, a five-star Vinta Seascapes-inspired hotel of Fersal Hotel Group, broke ground recently in Barangay San Isidro, San Vicente town.

Chief operating officer Joel S. Fernando said on November 13 that the resort, which is originally designed by Architect Carlo Calma, highlights the magnificent view of San Vicente’s famous Long Beach.

The design was inspired by the traditional Mindanao boat “vinta”. It will boast a 101-room elegantly situated to give the perfect angle of the beach. The infinity pool is placed on the high floor for the dramatic island experience of basking in the sun.

“This project aims to augment and uplift the local heritage and appeal to the international market. I fell in love twice, first with my wife and second to San Vicente. People might ask why we chose this place, but we always look for beauty, a natural beauty that we actually found in San Vicente. I believe in the land potential, beach potential, local potential and I believe it’s time to share with the world the beauty of San Vicente. Today, I present to you The Hotel Elizabeth Resort and Villas,” Fernando said this as he unveiled the perspective plan of the resort hotel.

Furthermore, Elizabeth Salonga-Fernando, Fersal Hotel Group President & CEO, said this will be the first resort of the Fersal Hotel Group.

“Today, I would like to formally present to you the gem of Fersal Hotel Group as our first resort hotel project at the most beautiful island in the world awarded by Condenast. We are full of pride in this undertaking and this will surely be a high-end resort. This is a very special project that came from the heart of the Fernando family. The idea to have a beach property is because of me, I want to live in the beach area and soon I will be your kabarangay” she said.

The matriarch of the Fernandos also assured that the majority of the future staff of the resort will come from the locals.

“I have already instructed the COO, Joel Fernando, that if not all, a majority of the staff of this resort will be coming from San Vicente. Kayong mga kabataan ay pag-igihan ninyo, hindi namin itataas ang qualifications in San Vicente basta masipag kayo and you have the heart na willing to learn, you will be hired (to the youth present today, strive hard, we will not ask for high qualifications, for as long as your industrious)” she added.

Mayor Amy Alvarez, who graced the groundbreaking ceremony, also expressed her gratitude to the Fernando family for choosing the town of San Vicente as the location of their first resort in the country.

Alvarez said that the establishment of the resort will boost the economy of San Vicente through increasing accommodations.

“With open arms, we welcome you in the town of San Vicente as part of the business sector and as a partner in development. The local government will always be there to serve you, congratulations,” she said.
