Grade 8 PNS student remains under custody of the City Police Station 1.

A Grade 8 student of the Palawan National School (PNS) was placed under police custody Tuesday afternoon after dried marijuana leaves were discovered by security guards inside his bag along Palanca Street in Barangay Model.

A security guard of the school who cannot be named said they discovered the marijuana inside the 15-year-old boy’s bag while roving outside the school perimeter in the talipapa area.

He said they accosted the student after seeing him playing with a lighter. They told him to open his bag and when they inspected its content, they found the marijuana stick.

When they asked the student to get it inside the bag, the boy reacted by getting a roll of paper and ran to escape towards East Central School (ECS).

The security guard said they caught him inside ECS.

Also found inside his bag were rolling papers and a condom.

The boy said he bought the marijuana for P70 from someone, but he did not say the person’s name.

“Nakatambay lang po ako, may hawak na lighter. Nakita nila (security guards) ako, binuksan ‘yong bag ko, tapos ‘yon po nakita nila. Noong linggo po [napunta sa akin ‘yong marijuana]. Ini-stock ko lang po, hindi ko kasi alam kung anong mangyayari sa akin kapag tinistengan ko. Arbor-arbor ko lang ‘yon,” the Grade 8 student said.

The student remains under the custody of the City Police Station 1.
