The city police on Sunday arrested three men suspected of raping a Grade 10 student in Barangay Bagong Silang.
The suspects, according to Police Maj. Lorence Battaler, chief of the Puerto Princesa City Police Office (PPCPO) Station 1, were identified by the victim and her mother.
The incident reportedly happened on July 21, when the three suspects allegedly took turns raping the victim inside a house.
The police report noted that the suspects were all acquaintance of the victim and that they were celebrating the latter’s forthcoming birthday.
The suspects were identified in the police report as Jaime Manaay Bonghanoy, Jr., alias “Jowker”, 18, a construction worker, Kyle Binas Padong, alias “Dongkoy”, 22, also a construction worker, and Ronald Maeton Andales, alias “Apong”, 22, a fisherman. All are residents of Brgy. Bagong Silang.
“Actually, ‘yong victim at ‘yong mga suspects magkakakilala ‘yan, magbabarkada pa. Well-known sila sa isa’t isa, nag-iinuman umano sila at ‘yon na nga ganoon ‘yong nangyari noong madaling-araw na,” Bataller said.
