The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is set to complete its delivery of food packs to all six remote island barangays of Balabac to aid residents amidst the current lockdown.

DSWD officer Wahidulhayat Sulayman said they have prepared some 2,000 fooodpacks to be delivered to some 4,000 household in the town’s six island barangays.

As of April 2, the DSWD team was in Mangsee and Bangkalaan Islands, and will proceed to Malinsuno, Pandanan, Sibaring and Ramos island.

“Medyo mahirap ang sitwasyon namin dito dahil isla ang binabyahe namin kaya first batch palang po ang naibibigay namin lima pang isla ang tatapusin namin kasama ang Pandanan Island, Sibaring, Mangsee, Ramos at Malinsuno Island,” Sulayman said.

“Titiyakin naming maihatid ang mga foodpacks na to sa lahat ng island barangay ng Balabac,” he added.

Balabac has released P3.3 million from its Quick Response Fund(QRF) for the assistance program.
