Three residential structures were totally destroyed by a fire Saturday evening in Sampaloc Road, Barangay San Jose, but no one was reportedly hurt, according to the City Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

Fire officer 1 Erwin Tabang, the investigator at case, told Palawan News Saturday evening a concerned citizen called their station at 5:16 p.m. on September 21 to report the fire.

Tabang said their officers arrived in the area at 5:20 p.m. or around four minutes from the moment they received the report.

“Iyong time kasi ng sunog ay walang tao talaga doon sa compound. May tao, isa, ‘yong nakakita lang, pero the others wala,” said Tabang explaining why no one was injured during the fire.

Tabang said four families used to reside in these three structures that were all situated in one compound.

These houses, he said, were made of both concrete and light materials.

However, they were able to identify only the three family heads namely Ruel Cebuano, Louie Alcasoba, and Rolando Jalloren.

“Made of light materials kasi. Half-half concrete and light. Totally damaged talaga ‘yong tatlo, ubos talaga,” said Tabang.

Tabang said they will still conduct an in-depth investigation to determine the cause of fire.

A fire-out was declared after an hour.

Their initial report does not yet include the estimated cost of fire damage.

“Sa ngayon wala pang ibinibigay ang mga victim natin na initial na cost ng damage so wala pa tayong hawak na record,” said Tabang.
