The town of Roxas plunged into a 48-hour power blackout Monday when a tree fell into a transmission line traversing the forest of Langogan.

Louie Libarra, National Power Corporation (NPC) superintendent for northern and southern transmission line, said the Palawan Electric Cooperative (PALECO) linemen helped them in checking the cause of the interruption which lasted from July 30 to August 1.

“Nakita natin ang problema sa Brgy. Langongan, sa taas ng bundok. May kahoy na natumba, sumayad doon sa linya natin. Yon ang dahilan kung bakit tayo nagkaroon ng brownout,” he said.

Libarra said power services resumed in the town on Thursday afternoon.

In a text message, PALECO spokesperson Claire Guludah added that tower 201-202 of the NPC located along Langogan was the root of the power interruption.
