A former policeman considered to be a high-value target (HVT) of the Palawan Police Provincial Office (PPO) was arrested Wednesday morning in a buy-bust operation in Taytay town.
He was identified as 40-year old Erwin Gan, a resident of Barangay Poblacion, Taytay.
Gan was arrested in Binyangang, Barangay Sandoval by the joint operating team of the PPO Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) headed by Chief Insp. Romerico Remo and Taytay municipal police chief, Senior Insp. Bermar Herrera.
Confiscated from him were one sachet of suspected shabu and P700 cash.
Senior Insp. Ric Ramos, information officer of the PPO, said Thursday that the suspect is among the high-value targets in their list.
“He was a dismissed member of the PNP in October 2016 for his involvement in illegal drugs during the random drug testing conducted and through non-stop monitoring and case build-up for his illegal activities,” he said.
