The newly-designated field officer of the provincial office of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) assured residents of Palawan that he will address all their labor-concerns and problems “with fairness.”

Luigi Evangelista replaced Bernardo Toriano who is now currently the OIC assistant regional director of DOLE in MIMAROPA.

Before his transfer to Palawan, Evangelista spent 10 years as the field officer of the DOLE in Marinduque province.

“Ang alam kasi ng empleyado lahat ng reklamo nila ay tingin nila sila na ang tama pero kung titignan natin minsan mayroon naman may tama ang management. Kung may karapatan ang empleyado ay may karapatan din ang employer. D’yan lang minsan hindi nagkakaintindihan, but we assure them of fair actions on their complaints,” he said.

(What the employees who are complaining know are that they are always right, but if we will check, the management is also right. If the employees have rights, the employers also have them. It is in that where the conflict lies, but we assure them of fair actions on their complaints.)

On February 6, DOLE Palawan will have its mandatory conference with their inspector to discuss issues including labor cases.
