A 42-year-old chef of an El Nido restaurant was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation of the El Nido Municipal Police Station and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 4B, Thursday evening.
Seven pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu were confiscated from the suspect identified as Pio Capistrano Evangelista, a resident of Barangay Villa Libertad.
Green double mint tube, one folded aluminum foil, sling bag, lighter, and wallet were confiscated.
Also confiscated were some coins, American dollar, Indonesian rupiah and Philippine money amounting to 1,196 pesos
Evangelista and seized items are currently under the custody of El Nido MPS for proper disposition while a case for violation of RA 9165 is now being prepared against the suspect.
