DTI’s advice to MSMEs: Give products ‘a makeover’

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Provincial Office encourages all Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the province to give their respective business products a ‘makeover’.

Provincial Director Arnel Hutalla said they offer free consultancy in improving MSMEs products look good for better marketability, set shelf life, compliance to food safety standards and environmental regulations as well as gaining credentials required for bigger marketplaces or export.

Hutalla said MSMEs may bring their products (not limited to food products) to Negosyo Center Oriental Mindoro located at Old Provincial Capitol in Brgy. Ibaba East, Calapan City. The office is open 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM during weekdays.

Likewise, other Negosyo Centers in Oriental Mindoro are available for the services offered by DTI. As of now, DTI has 10 existing Negosyo Centers where MSMEs can bring their products for improvement or enhancement. These centers are located in the following city/municipalities: Calapan City, Puerto Galera, San Teodoro, Naujan, Victoria, Socorro, Pinamalayan, Bansud, Bongabong and Roxas.

Hutalla added that other municipalities will also soon open Negosyo Centers that are managed and supervised by DTI. (LTC/DTI/PIA-Mimaropa/Calapan)
