DSWD Secretary Rolando Bautista made it clear that their department casts off online adoption.
Bautista made the remark on the launch of the 2019 Adoption Consciousness Celebration after numerous reports reached the DSWD stating that children are being opened for adoption through Facebook and other social media platforms.
For proper guidance on adoption, DSWD in partnership with SM Cares and SM Supermalls will also set up Adoption Helpdesk in select malls across the country to respond to inquiries of the public on adoption and foster care laws.
In Puerto Princesa City, the Adoption Helpdesk will be available at the Lower Ground Floor of SM City Puerto Princesa on February 16 to 17, 2019.
The celebration of the Adoption Consciousness Week, created by virtue of Presidential Proclamation No. 72 series of 1999, aims to ensure nationwide awareness of the growing number of orphaned, abandoned or neglected Filipino children in need of alternative wholesome family environment.
