The Taytay police are on a manhunt for a person facing a possible complaint for illegal possession of firearms.

P/Capt. Roel Tattao, officer-in-charge of the Taytay Municipal Police Station (MPS), told Palawan News the suspect, a certain Sonny Aniceto Cawaling, an electrician, was the subject of a complaint filed by his companion whom he allegedly threatened to shoot during a drinking session.

The complaint was filed by a certain  Edwin Dela Cruz Abdon, a friend of the suspect. He claimed that during a drinking session with the suspect, the latter threatened to shoot him.

Cawaling reportedly accidentally dropped his gun and did not notice it because he was already drunk when he got up to relieve himself outside the house where they were having the drinking session.

The suspect also physically abused his wife, prompting Abdon to report the matter to the police. Responding policemen, however, failed to arrest Cawaling, who had already fled the scene when they arrived.
