The Schools Division Office (SDO) of the Department of Education (DepEd) in Palawan has submitted a proposal to its central office for the establishment of two sub-offices in the northern and southern parts of the province, with the goal of bringing the division closer to educators.
Schools Division Superintendent Roger Capa said if approved, each sub-office will have a budget of P39 million.
The project plan is included in DepEd’s budget for 2022, according to Capa.
He said DepEd Palawan performed an examination for the proposed site in Brooke’s Point for the sub-office in southern Palawan last week, but the town’s Sanggunian Bayan has yet to approve it. There was no mention of a specific location for the northern portion.
Meanwhile, Capa urged school administrators, teachers, and the Palawan division to preserve cordial relationships, emphasizing that disagreements should be resolved first at the school or district office level.
