A man’s body was found floating in the waters of Roxas municipality on Sunday afternoon.

Case investigator P/SSgt. Julius Falcunaya of the Roxas police identified the body as that of Roberto D. Burdaje, 38, a former migrant worker and a fisherman in Puerto Princesa City.

His remains were found floating in the coastal waters of Sitio Tabuyo, Barangay Caramay in the municipality.

Falcunaya said Caramay village official Jeffrey Caabas reported the incident to the Roxas police station.

No signs of foul play were found on his body and Burdaje may have drowned, he said.

Falcunaya also said around 9 p.m. on August 11, they received a call from the Bantay Dagat of Roxas informing them that Burdaje’s wife Ruth was looking for him.

Burdaje reportedly left Puerto Princesa City on August 8 to fish, but he failed to return.

Falcunaya said his body was positively identified by Ruth.
